Parent Survey - Your Comments
Autumn Term 2022
We are hugely proud and heartened to receive such positive feedback from our parents, thank you to everyone who contributed to our Autumn Term Parent survey.
We are delighted to share some of the highlights from the survey and the actions we are taking as a result of the parent feedback.
What our parents say…
100% said their child is happy in our school
100% said their child feels safe in our school
100% said my child is taught well at this school
100% said my child does well at this school.
When children feel safe and happy they are able to engage in their learning, be inquisitive and have confidence to ask more questions.
What do we do well, you said:
“The school cares about the students and the education they receive; they continually strive to do and provide more for the children. We get the impression that every child feels heard, welcome and safe in school."
What our parents say…
100% said the school is led and managed effectively.
100% said the school has a strong Christian ethos.
We have worked hard to improve links with the local church and Rev. James comes to school every week to lead a collective worship.
What do we do well, you said:
“Both my children are really happy at Pickhill School. They enjoy learning and are supported by caring staff who strive for them to “be the best they can be”.”
“Ensures a good community spirit and encourages the children to look out for each other.”
What our parents say…
75% rated our wraparound care as a 10/10 and 25% rated it 9/10.
100% said the school helps their child to have a healthy lifestyle.
We are heartened by this result, we endeavour to offer a wide variety of activities to enable all our children to try something new.
What do we do well, you said:
“I’ve been extremely impressed with what is offered to the children given that it is a “small village school” but I don’t believe the staff have that mentality. I feel everyone who works at Pickhill wants to achieve great things for the school and its pupils.”
We are listening
Although no parents expressed concerns about their child being bullied, some parents were unsure of the procedures we would follow if there was any bullying in school.
To address this point, we will:
- Involve parents in activities during the next anti-bullying week
- Communicate our behaviour policies and procedures.
- Re-share the Jigsaw parents overview.
